Hello,

This is my first topic and I have a question that I cannot find the answer to.
Why do you think Dragon Ball Super ?

Hello,

Though I can't tell whether it's against the rules to write in english, I'll try to answer and leave this question to moderation.

I have a feeling that "Super" means "higher" or "above", as in its latin sense. By this word, the saga probably hopes to reach another dimension mainly about divinity which had a very different treatment back in DB. Back then, it was considered as a layer : Earth's god was a bearer of a greater *fighting* understanding, just like Kaïo had an even greater comprehension. The latter taught about the Kaïoken and the Genkidama, which both rely on elevating oneself and gathering strength from every life form, which channeling proved to be the most powerful skill (a sort of shonen-spirit technique).

Dragon Ball Super both keep on seeing Gods as martial artists and as bearers of a greater knowledge, but this time their techniques transcend individual strength or collective strength. Both Ultra Instinct's serenity and explosive Destruction are far more dangerous, not only because it highly empowers whoever master those powers, but also because it has a direct connection with the environment (whether it be through anihilation or communion with nature) . Some gods have the responsability to destroy planets, in order to make their universe stronger.
Above individual prowess, there are cycles and intrications of far wider range. Those considerations imply such a scale that mere mortals have to step up just to grasp the meaning of such powers, and much more so to dream about mastering them.

At least this is the way I understand the "Super" ; they also might have gotten excited and simply thought it was a convenient word :D .
